The purpose of this chapter is to demonstrate the capabilities of Coreform Cubit for finite element mesh generation as well as provide a brief tutorial on the use of the software package. This chapter is designed to demonstrate step-by-step instructions for generating a simple mesh on a perforated brick.

The following activity demonstrates the basics of using Coreform Cubit to generate and mesh a geometry. By following these steps, you will become familiar with the basics of the command-line and GUI interfaces without stopping for detailed explanations. All the commands introduced in this tutorial are documented in subsequent chapters on this manual.
