Introductory tutorial videos

Create your first hex mesh in Coreform Cubit

There are many ways to create meshes for finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in Coreform Cubit. Here are three ways to mesh this simple CAD model (download the CAD geometry here: simple.sat).

Create your second hex mesh in Coreform Cubit

  • This slightly more complex model introduces the powerful Coreform Cubit semi-automated hex meshing toolset. Here are three ways to mesh this simple CAD model (download the CAD geometry here: knuckle.sat).

PDF tutorials

The following PDF tutorials introduce basic Coreform Cubit workflows.

The ITEM Wizard is helpful for absolute beginners, and provides a step-by-step overview of the entire meshing process. However, once a user becomes comfortable with meshing in Coreform Cubit, the ITEM wizard workflow may become limiting.

For more advanced users, Power Tools combine logical groupings of Coreform Cubit features together. Finally, the geometry decomposition tools are some of the most powerful and unique features in Coreform Cubit, and are used to prepare a model for semi-automatic hex meshing.

The decomposition tutorial provides several examples (including sample data) that you can use to become familiar with these tools.
