The problem with traditional FEA

Traditional FEA often slows engineers down before the analysis even begins.

The real bottleneck is not solving the model. It is preparing geometry for simulation. Engineers must spend time defeaturing CAD, creating and repairing meshes, and repeating that work with every design iteration. For complex or nonlinear problems, meshing can become especially fragile and time-consuming.

That effort does not improve the product. It is simply overhead required to make the model usable for analysis.

What Is Coreform IGA?

Coreform IGA enables finite element analysis (FEA) directly from CAD models using isogeometric analysis (IGA) technology. In other words, it combines CAD-based simulation with isogeometric analysis for advanced finite element analysis workflows.

Instead of approximating geometry with low-order finite elements, Coreform IGA allows you to:

Use CAD spline mathematics directly in analysis
Extend CAD trimming into 3D to create analysis-ready models automatically
Produce analysis-ready spline models for linear and nonlinear, static and dynamic simulations

The result is robust nonlinear simulation on complex geometry.

Native isogeometric analysis

We’re developing a native isogeometric analysis FEA solver that simplifies model setup without compromising capabilities or accuracy. 

While this solver is currently in the early stages of development, we’ve successfully demonstrated its ability to solve highly nonlinear physics involving static and dynamic behaviors, including large deformation, incompressible elasticity, plasticity, and contact, with a variety of explicit and implicit solution methods.
