LLM Agent Sessions

Beginning with version 2026.8, Coreform Cubit can be driven programmatically by an LLM agent such as a coding assistant, while the GUI session remains open and visible.

When Cubit is started with the -rpc option, the application opens a websocket server on the local machine. A command-line client shipped in the installation, bin/cubitc, enables the relay of commands and queries to that server.

This apparatus allows a user to drive the RPC-enabled Cubit session via any LLM agent that can run shell commands. The user need only instruct the agent to use the cubitc client when carrying out user instructions. Nothing else is needed: no additional installation, no separate server process, and no configuration file.

This section describes what you need in order to run such a session, how to start one, how to point an agent at it, and the constraints that apply to the current implementation.
